Growing up, we used to sing the gospel song Traveling Shoes. As a kid, I never understand the need for shoes if you were traveling to heaven. But clearly, I was missing the larger point. When you look at the scriptures, it’s clear that shoes are needed—spiritually and physically because God calls us to be pilgrims as wanderers in this world. Not just because we are on our way to heaven but because he has a goal for us down here—and that’s to spread His glory. And you can’t do that if you are standing still.
In this episode of the Unfolding Words Podcast we discuss:
Abraham was a wanderer, setting up altars to establish worship on enemy turf.
Jesus filled the earth with His glory as he walked the earth.
Your life is an opportunity to spread God’s glory and take territory for Him.
Scriptures mentioned in this episode:
1 Peter 2:11; Hebrews 11:8-10;
